Trauma & CPTSD

What would life look like if you were no longer suffering?

You don’t have to carry your pain alone anymore.

  • Do you feel haunted by memories, thoughts, or images from your past? Do they pop in at the most inopportune time and derail your day?

  • Do you often feel anxious and on edge and like it’s not safe to let your guard down?

  • Do you have trouble sleeping, feeling like you’re riding an emotional roller coaster, or having trouble with irritability/anger?

  • Do you feel numb or disconnected from yourself or the world?

You may be experiencing trauma responses.

Trauma can impact anyone at any point in their lives. It can occur from repeated exposures throughout life, or during a one-off event. Regardless of the event or when it occurred, the significant impact trauma has on a person can feel suffocating. However, recovery is possible. Healing is possible.

You no longer have to be handcuffed by the events from your past.

My Approach to Trauma Therapy

  • Create safety

Safety is paramount. To begin, the focus will be to slow things down, create attunement and connection, and allow space for your nervous system to feel ready for the process.

  • Build skills to prepare

We will cover various skills and tools to use outside of, and during, sessions in order to prepare for the depth of the work. These skills will be curated to fit you and your nervous system, not just the standard deep breathing.

  • Planning & setting pace

We will create a targeted list of areas that you would like to work on. What we start with and where we go will be led by you. If something does not feel right, we will pivot. Your needs and pacing are front and center.

  • Process the trauma

When you are ready, we will begin processing the trauma using Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing and Internal Family Systems. I will be there guiding you through the process and monitoring your experience and needs.
