Trauma & Attachment
What would life look like if you were no longer suffering?
You don’t have to carry your pain alone anymore.
Do you feel haunted by memories, thoughts, or images from your past? Do they pop in at the most inopportune time and derail your day?
Do you often feel anxious and on edge and like it’s not safe to let your guard down?
Do you have trouble sleeping, feeling like you’re riding an emotional roller coaster, or having trouble with irritability/anger?
Do you feel numb or disconnected from yourself or the world?
You may be experiencing trauma responses.
Trauma can impact anyone at any point in their lives. It can occur from repeated exposures throughout life, or during a one-off event. Regardless of the event or when it occurred, the significant impact trauma has on a person can feel suffocating. However, recovery is possible. Healing is possible.

Trauma Therapy FAQs
-
Trauma is a response to an intensely scary, stressful, or life-threatening event or situation. Anyone at any age can experience a trauma, though not everyone who experiences a trauma will experience post-traumatic stress.

Post-traumatic stress (or post-traumatic stress disorder, PTSD for short) is a mental health condition that occurs in response to a traumatic event. A person with PTSD will exhibit different symptomology such as intrusive imagery, avoidance behaviors, nightmares, flashbacks, changes in mood, emotional instability, negative beliefs about the self, etc. Not everyone who experiences a trauma will have PTSD symptoms. It’s dependent on many factors such as the brain and nervous system’s ability to metabolize the event, coping skills, natural supports, and resiliency.

Trauma therapy is a branch of psychotherapy designed to help people address and manage the symptoms and in doing so, move towards healing and recovery. Trauma therapy typically entails utilization of a trauma modality. The modality I utilize is EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing, in conjunction with parts work (Internal Family Systems), when needed.

Yes! It absolutely is. I’ve had the privilege of witnessing tremendous healing and growth in the clients I’ve worked with over the last decade. People who’ve been burdened for years with hurt, pain, and suffering have had their lives transformed. That being said, trauma work is hard, BUT you’re not alone in this. We can and will come together to address the worst, most painful memories of your life- when you are ready- and open up space for new insights, beliefs, and feelings about yourself and the world around you. It’s a beautiful thing to bear witness to and I’m truly honored to walk alongside my clients in this journey.
