    Intensives

I offer EMDR Intensives. Intensives are a non-insurance covered service that assists in accelerated trauma processing. Unlike individual weekly or biweekly counseling, intensives can range anywhere from 2 hours to 6 hours within a 1-to-3-day time period.

However, the intensives that I offer are at most 4 hours per day and at most 3 days in a row.

Modalities

Therapy is not a one-size-fits-all. While I enjoy and mostly incorporate the modalities listed below, part of my approach is utilizing various techniques and interventions. See here for more info.

  • Eye Movement Desensitization & Reprocessing (EMDR) is an evidenced-based psychotherapy technique used to address trauma, depression, anxiety, low self-worth, and many other ailments. EMDR incorporates activation of the trauma memory, bilateral stimulation, and dual awareness (one foot in the present and one in the past) to foster resolution of painful memories.

EMDR is an 8-phase treatment model which incorporates treatment planning, grounding and resourcing, and trauma processing, resulting in a decrease in trauma symptoms, improvement in sense of self and worth, and healing old wounds.

  • Internal Family Systems (IFS) is a technique utilized to connect with all the parts of us and facilitate connection, attunement, and healing. Oftentimes there are parts of us who are critical, judgmental, or shaming; or they hold information; or they are hurting. Through use of this technique, we learn more the parts, their roles, their needs, and their wounding. In utilizing IFS, we are able to help the parts take on new roles (should they choose), release the pain and anger, and create a softening in our nervous system. It allows insight into ourselves, the way we view the world around us, and our decision making.

  • Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is a modality utilized to help address unhelpful or hurtful thinking patterns, increase activities that enrich us and our livelihood, and helps create space for us to consider alternative perspectives.

*While I am trained in and pull aspects from CBT, it is not one that I heavily use in my work with clients, especially my ND clients.
